Målet

Det handlar egentligen inte om att bli känd eller rik. Det handlar om att få skriva det man vill och att kunna få fram sin åsikt i havet bland författare.

My writing space 2010

For the last three years, I've been living at a dorm. This year, I'm back in my parents' house, in my old room. I don't complain, because that means free food and company when things go bad, but that also means a room full with siblings and the family dog. So when Nano comes along, I'll probably go crazy - especially since I have a HUGE music history exam in the beginning of December. My parents don't approve of me writing novels, they say that I make playlists on iTunes or Spotify every time I pull out my computer to work.

However, I am going to spend a considerable time on the train between Lund and Copenhagen this year - approx. four hours a day! - so I'll have time to write then. But I thought I'd post a picture of my writing space here. My writing space is shared with two younger siblings, and they don't even write! Then there's the fact that my sister steals my Spotify all the time... grr.

And about the picture... I'm sorry about the terrible picture quality.

But here it is: my Nanowrimo writing space for 2010!

As you can see, it's a huge IKEA desk, the ones you have in offices. The desktop belongs to the family, I own a Acer laptop that is resting at the moment. The desktop screen picture is the banner for this year's Nano. By the computer on the right there's my proof copy from last year (-09). It's there to remind me that I've done this before and that I can make it this year too. I have my little mascot next to the lamp, a little Miranda teddy bear. I've had it for the last four novels I've written, she's a big help for me.
Next to the lamp on the right there's pens, dictionaries, notebooks and more pens.
On the other side, left of the computer, there's a collection of classical music CD's my gran gave me this summer. I won't be running out of music if I get bored... plus that my main character loves classical music... hehe.
Next to the CD's there's a stack of papers (1 000 papers, I think) and a printer that is seen in the lower left corner of the picture. On the desk there is also the notebooks where I keep all my character info and my writing diary. I keep track of my writing every day, added words and stuff, it's really fun to have.

I also own two extra harddrives to back up all my work. Since we have two computers and I own an iPod touch and several notebooks, hopefully I'll be able to write without any accidents this year. =)

Basically, this desk is my writing area where I try to keep everything within reach. Behind this desk there's a huge bookshelf filled with books and references and my "No Plot? No Problem!" copy. I love that book.
This October, I'll be walking around and talking pictures with my crappy camera to have something to inspire me. This year, I'm also going to be a mentor to a Norweigan newbie, which I think is very nice! I can't wait until November comes along!!!
